Introduction - Adopted and Known

Over the last few years, I have wrestled with what God was laying on my heart to share in this space. In every way, I knew He was leading me to talk about my adoption story. But how does one do that without it being all about me? I knew for certain if this was to glorify God and point others to Jesus, it was going to be much bigger than me.

Through the process of leaning into my own adoption story, I began naming some of the things I was wrestling with: identity, contentment, surrender, belonging. Then it hit me. Those are not just things one experiences as an adoptee. We ALL have a story that identifies with each one of those challenges. Adoption is just one part of my story that God has used to shape my faith and perspective to live out what I know to be true: that God is in full control and His love for us surpasses anything we have ever known. My life changed believing that very truth. And my hope for others is to know it and believe it, too.

God reveals His glory time and time again when we go to Him. Whatever season we are walking through, good days, bad days, even in the mundane, God is ever present and inviting us to lean into every moment with Him. When we do, we remember we are not alone and we are not forgotten. By His grace we are fully and unconditionally loved and seen, because we are His... adopted and known.

Adoption may not be your earthly story, but it is a Heavenly story written for each one of us.
